Artist's Statement:
Although I'm becoming more familiar with and appreciative of the light that surrounds me, I have to place my intimacy with my “dark side” as my muse. Creating art allows me to paint my fears & insecurities onto a canvas, so that I may walk towards them with the sturdy weapon that is my paintbrush. Through this process, I have found cool ways to tap into the innate human capacity for healing. As such, much of my work reflects my spiritual journey in overcoming intrapersonal, sociocultural, and systemic obstacles, as you'll see in my emphases on nature, culture, identity, death, suffering, and transcendence. It is my hope that, by viewing my work, you feel a sense of liberation, are reminded that we are all connected and that we are all more than meets the eye.
