Artist's Statement:
With my art, I aspire to create a sense of awe and appreciation for the innumerable wonders we experience daily. My artistic journey has always been guided by an unwavering fascination with the beauty of the natural world, a fascination I first explored through the lens of my camera. I begin my creative process with a photograph, freezing the subject so that I can study it and visualize each painting. My goal is to reveal the subtle beauty of botanical subjects, inviting viewers to explore and reflect at their own pace. My art focuses on the graceful curves, movement, and colors that endlessly draw me to the world of botanicals. Oil paints are my preferred medium, they allow me to create a symphony of vibrant colors by layering paint to achieve contrast and depth, sometimes using up to 15 layers.
As an artist, my mission is to shed light on the magnificence of the natural world that surrounds us, often overlooked in the frenzy of modern life. In our fast-paced existence, it's easy to forget to pause and appreciate the little miracles that nature offers. I hope that, through my art, I can kindle a sense of awe and admiration, inspiring people to rediscover and celebrate these everyday wonders.
