Artist's Statement:
My work is a reflection of moments, hours or days connecting with the beauty of nature. I love using soft, beautiful wool roving and rich, colorful silk and bamboo embellishment fibers to create natural textiles inspired by humble scenes from evening walks on my central Indiana property and awe-inspiring views captured while hiking wooded trails throughout the midwest. I relish the act of carefully choosing which type of fibers will best replicate the silky smooth surface of a butterfly wing or capture the light and movement of falling water. My hope is that my art will evoke a sense of nostalgia or feeling of wanderlust in the viewer.
